Music and Movement - Level 1

Service Description

In this class, preschoolers will develop an awareness of steady beat, rhythmic beat, and melodic beat in various ways including percussion instruments. Through music and movement, children will be refining their fine motor skills with songs and rhymes utilizing finger plays and instruments. They will learn basic musical concepts through vocal play and games, tapping into the natural pretend play of this age group. Instructor: Christine Pueyo Christine Pueyo has been teaching in various capacities for over 25 years, beginning with preschool. She has a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in elementary education and a minor in music from San Jose State University. She also has an early childhood education certificate and is a certified catechist for the Diocese of Phoenix. Christine has been singing in choirs since she was a child and, in addition to being a cantor at her church, has enjoyed encouraging young singers through vocal coaching in three musical theatre productions that she has had the pleasure of directing. She has 6 adult children and a wonderful husband of 35 years who has been her faithful support. Christine looks forward to sharing her love for music with your children and giving glory to God through the gifts He has given!
