Introduction to Music & Movement-Level 1

Service Description

It's a Star Spangled Summer Music class to celebrate our country's 250th anniversary! Please join us for a music-filled three day session as we journey through melodies from our nation's past, learning basic musical concepts through music and movement. We will explore different percussion instruments and learn about rhythm as we march, sing, and dance to old favorites, as well as new ones! We will also learn about three American-born saints, St. Katherine Drexel, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and Kateri Tekakwitha- musically, of course! May God Bless America! In this class, preschoolers will develop an awareness of steady beat, rhythmic beat, and melodic beat in various ways including percussion instruments. Through music and movement, children will be refining their fine motor skills with songs and rhymes utilizing finger plays and instruments. They will learn basic musical concepts through vocal play and games, tapping into the natural pretend play of this age group. Instructor: Christine Pueyo
